After working in the hotel and travel industries in Malaysia and Singapore, I decided on a change of career and chose to study at Endeavour's Melbourne campus. Malaysia is steeped in traditional medicines but it's people are starting to take more interest in their health and I wish to play a part in educating them. What I like most about studying at Endeavour is that I share my learning and experience with other like-minded people who are also passionate about the industry.

Accommodation

Temporary Accommodation

Temporary Accommodation on Arrival - If required, temporary accommodation can be arranged for a period of one week.  Please advise the College of your flight details at least 7 days before arrival.  This will be hotel style accommodation.

  • $100 - $150 AUD per night.

Permanent Accommodation

Homestay - Homestay involves the student living with an Australian family.  The cost generally includes two meals (breakfast and dinner) during the week, and three meals on the weekends. Rooms may be single or shared and costs vary accordingly.

  • Cost $220-$300AUD per week.

Private or Church-owned Boarding Hostels - These Hostels are available for both tertiary and non-tertiary students.  Facilities include shared bathroom and kitchen so that students can prepare their own meals. For newcomers to the country, living in a hostel is a good way to meet other students in a comfortable study environment.

  • Cost:  $150 - $200AUD per week.

Share Accommodation - Advertisements on student noticeboards and in sections of the local newspapers advertise for one or more people to share a house or flat, often where a lease has already been taken out.  This often suits students once they have been in the country for some time and are comfortable with their new country's living arrangements.

  • Cost $90  $150AUD per week.

Rental Accommodation - As with share accommodation, units, flats, single bedsitters and even houses are available through Real Estate agents.  These are normally unfurnished.  One month's rent in advance is usually charged plus a bond (or security deposit) prior to signng a lease agreement.

  • Cost:  $200 - $300AUD per week.
